Serbian: what is hardest to remember

Serbian uses both Cyrillic and Latin scripts, has cases, and shares many words with other Slavic languages — sometimes with a different meaning. That deceptive closeness makes Serbian words easy to mix up when learned as a bare list.

  • Two alphabets (ћирилица and latinica) — it helps to see a word in both, inside an example.
  • Cases change endings, so a word is easier to learn within a sentence.
  • There are “false friends” that look familiar but mean something else — context makes the real meaning clear.
